So before the State of Play it was leaked that Rayman Legends (2013) was getting a remake. Not only is it the second 2013 Ubisoft game getting a remake it doesn't really need, but me, @Jassassino, and one of our friends were remarking on what a dreadful pick for a remake it is because the game's enging, UbiArt Framework, is entirely hand drawn meaning that its graphics have aged wonderfully-even 13 years later it looks great and has a charm that a lot of games since couldn't hope to match.
Then the remake is revealed and it's actually completely done away with the hand drawn style in favour of being 2.5D:
It was disappointing news from the get go...while Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag Resynced feels unnecessary at least there's been plenty of new AC games since the original. The last Rayman game released was Rayman Legends. Remaking the last game you released instead of a new Rayman game, and stripping the unique visual style that was such a hit to justify doing so...it's an absolutely whack time to be into video games honestly.
