Westeros (Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms)
#8
Jon Snow is a good character, obviously. The distinction between book and TV is irrelevant IMO. Because you could just start saying 'well, game of thrones is a good piece of fiction' and then have someone (like, Faisal for example) come and WELL ACTUALLY you into submission about how the writing in certain parts of the show is really poor, therefore the whole thing is poor.

But no, we're all here discussing it now despite the fact it turned into a genuinely terrible TV show. It's the same with Jon. We know who Jon Snow is, both book and TV. We know the essence of him. He's enough that we can quite obviously say he's a good character, no matter how terribly the writing went off the rails and his arc turned into a joke in the show.

I'm still yet to watch HOTD S2, but I really enjoyed S1. KOTS was also excellent, Lyonel Baratheon stole my heart. I'm still very much invested in the universe despite how poorly the show ended.
