I've never read the Tales of Dunc and Egg but I've gleaned a lot of info on it over the years. I'm probably going to listen to the Audiobooks starting tomorrow (shouldn't take too long to get the first book out of the way) before watching the first episode. Looking forward to it, somehow. I need more Westeros in my life even though we know what happened to GoT and the glut of problems I have with HotD season 2. I hope they don't do me dirty for the third time.
Watched the first episode. It was beautiful. I can't wait to have my heart broken again. I love what they've done with Lyonel Baratheon.
AKOTSK is the best thing HBO have put out, Westeros wise. ARES! GIVE ME ANOTHER THREE SEASONS UNTIL THEY ADAPT THE SHE-WOLVES OF WINTERFELL AND MY SOUL IS YOURS!
Ahem.
I'm just really up on this creative team.
IN THE NAME OF THE MOTHER WE NEED MORE!
Yeah it's been phenomenal so far. The casting (I'm not one to gush over kids, but I love DSA as Egg), the tone, the cinematography and the diegetic music. CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE DIEGETIC MUSIC?! HotD season 3 isn't topping this. Even if they do The God's Eye this season. I see why GRRM has lost his shit over Season 2 although I did enjoy (most of) it.
I've read people saying it could have been a movie and while they're not wrong, what's been added to "pad out" the Novella has been absolutely fantastic. Ira Parker, I'm your man.
