After finally getting a notification from gamepass saying it was going to cancel my subscription because I don’t seem to be using it (honestly fair play, shocked to hear Microsoft didn’t want my money) I decided to stop putting of playing Expedition 33, god damn I should’ve played this ages ago

Kicked off Sekiro last night, only about an hour or two in but I'm liking it. Lot of challenging mini-bosses, lots to learn about attack patterns and how to deal with them. One thing I'm enjoying is that some have attacks that can only be parried in one manner but there's not necessarily just that one way to avoid them so it gives you a few extra ways to manage and give yourself time to acclimatise.

My spoiler free advice is to stock up on emblems early as they get more expensive as you go through the game. Get the skill that recovers health with deathblows, and upgrade the umbrella. It's the best action game ever made but its easy to have a horrible time if you play it wrong.

I've not really played since launch and only really played against Henry in person so I'm sure I was not playing these characters as nefariously as you're used to in this day and age.

Blob, I just finished the story for E33 under a week ago. You're in for an absolute treat.

Well, I can't seem to settle on a game, so I'm just gonna continue with my Platinum journey in Mass Effect Legendary Edition, currently on 2. Just rescued Archangel.

And I keep buying new games, FFS. The backlog was already unmanageable, but I've increased it exponentially the last few months.

But I did finally manage to get the hang of Sonic Racing: Crossworlds after really struggling with it. I basically just practiced a lot on the beginner difficulty, and now I can beat the AI 9/10 times. Finally ready to try some quick matches and the time trials.

One of the games I bought was a massive surprise to me: Predator: Hunting Grounds. It's smooth as butter on PS5, and the Yuatja gameplay is a hell of a lot of fun, while the Fireteam gameplay is tense and solid.

Also thinking of checking out those Metro 2033 games. I've read the first book, so I kinda have an idea of what it's gonna be like, haha.

I do really want Sonic Racing Crossworlds. I was playing through all the mainline Sonic games this year but I've unfortunately lost momentum (mainly because I'm playing Adventure on Dreamcast and have been away from home a lot lately. I also don't own Adventure 2 yet but know I wanna play it on Dreamcast as well so that's definitely put a bit of a spanner in the works). I did buy Team Sonic Racing but hardly played it at all, and with Mario Kart World I'm not sure I wanna drop full price on Crossworlds. I'll maybe get it secondhand at some point.

I bought Hunting Grounds on release but really didn't play it much. I was a massive fan of their Friday the 13th video game (a true Halloween classic) and I love Predator so I thought I'd be instantly into it but just wasn't. Have always wanted to go back to it as I did drop good money on it.

I only bought Hunting Grounds because it was on sale, haha. I think I paid like £8 for the PS5 version, and I've already extracted at least £8 worth of fun out of it, haha. The customization is insane, especially on the Predators.

Ah man just reading "Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast" has flooded my veins with nostalgia. I absolutely loved that game back in the day. I was a SEGA kid, so seeing Sonic in full 3D was absolutely insane, haha.

I feel like Sekiro is the most complete souls game, probably since there's no summoning so you really just have to nut up and git gud. Definitely took a while to acclimate to it compared to the other games but man it feels so good rattling off parries and counters when you get into the flow of it.
