Shyne-Bryght is probably busy preparing!

I do worry about throwing my back out at work or something. I'd get no compensation and would be unable to do my job so that would be good!

I should have known the chorus of old men would deny the inevitable (besides the Duck). You will reap what you sow (lots of ibuprofen).

No, I've hurt my back before when I worked retail. I blame the bananas and potatoes.

Inspired by my latest post in the MGS Quote thread comes a new series:

BK's Fun Facts: Part 1
Category: Language

Did you know that English had 27 letters once? It's still hiding in the alphabet song too. It's the letter: &

Yes the ampersand was the 27th letter for a while. It was after Z and in the song would be "W,X,Y,Z, and per se and" which would evolve into calling the symbol the ampersand. Now it hides between the last two "W,X,Y, & Z".

I'm sure Maxine is thrilled though, giving how long she works on Wordle puzzles the last thing she'd want is yet another letter.

Speaking of the alphabet this leads me to...

BK's Fun Facts: Part 2
Category: Language

Do you know which letter is the most recently added to English? Not Z at the end, but actually J! It was added and made distinct from I in the 1500s. You can see remnants of this in old writings and in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Indy has to spell the name of God, being Jehova, to reach the grail. The trial was in Latin, so the name of God was actually Iehovah. Makes you wonder how J was even an option when it hadn't been conceived yet huh?

Please join me next time for BK's Fun Facts!

When’s an acceptable time to start offering your coworkers out for scraps?

Feels dead strange for me going to work and not being called a cunt before breakfast.

Still a bit bloated from breakfast at that time surely? I was thinking 10:30 but I dunno, I’ll try 9:05 Monday

At our place when we have a big cross department meeting it's called "All Hands," if you have one of these as well you could take it literally and offer it there. Or strike first and say you assumed it was implied.
