I just fought the next boss and cannot stress enough how much I love this game. It gives me MGSV vibes when I take on bandit camps mixed with Batman because I'll start off silently picking off enemies stealthily but then I screw up, leading to a cascade effect where I just roll with it like MGSV. But that looks more like me jumping at high speeds like a lunatic, dropkicking bandits into oblivion. Every game should have a dropkick option.

There is definitely more of a game here than the first game. Very few things as terrifying as carrying fragile cargo and seeing the ''Chiral Density Increasing'' notification popping up as the screen gets that reddish hue.

I still wish they went all in on the MGSification of stealth. Proper cover mechanics and being able to go prone could have done a lot for the game, especially if it had unique interactions depending on how much cargo you're carrying. Using cargo as bait for bandits would have also been very cool.

Early Chapter 3 Spoilers Below
Spoiler:
Also, there is a very good chance you will all be using a road I made since I've been getting ass blasted with bridge link notifications ever since I built it (jumped from like..11 to 65 in a day). You all better smash that like button to your fellow porter.

Me, being a responsible porter - I have been running around fixing roads and monorails; this has resulted in me playing fedex simulator and running around constantly in a pick up with a shit ton of material onboard. If you all don’t pick up the slack and start doing your civic duty by repairing the damn infrastructure I’m gonna enforce a chyralium tax on those roads. IT MAKES EVERYONES LIFE EASIER WHEN THE ROADS ARE FIXED.

Sorry for not posting on these boards for a while, I've been checking in fairly regularly, just not posting.

Man I've been loving the shit out of this game. I've clocked around 63 hours as of writing this. Every single thing the first game did, this does way better.

It's also really nice to give a big budget, triple A game set in my home country. My only real complaint so far is the story seems a bit too much like a retread of the first one, but I still have a ways to go so I'm not sure yet if it diverts from that later on

Every board needs its lurkers, BULUP 🫡

I’ve still not had much time to play so far. Only got as far as touching down Down Under. Hoping to remedy that soon. It’s on my mind a lot lol

Is the game worth picking up? I've been debating on getting it these past few weeks. It's pretty pricey, but the trailers are quite interesting. Seemingly Kojima has borrowed quite a bit from Quentin Tarantino for ds2, based on what I've seen online Wink.

It would depend on what you seek most from a video game honestly.  Personally, I would say it's absolutely worth it because it makes navigating terrain consistently interesting, even with vehicles present.  Charting and navigating longer paths feels rewarding to pull off.  There's actual incentive to keep seeing out lost cargo since each star you rank up with per client gives you really useful gear and weapons.  The combat is a lot of fun, even if it's still a little clunky.  Stealth has a much better feel to it now because there's a lot more toys you can play with to keep yourself hidden and neutralize bad guys without triggering alerts.  And I'd say that the boss fights, so far, have been a huge improvement from the first game with how much more aggressive they are, and how much more attack variety they've had.  There's a lot more meat to chew on immediately with this game and its story has a lot of intrigue going on.
