They do one each year for GOTY and then do a Replay of a random pre-Backloggd year for you to decide. They put everyone's entries together to decide the site's GOTY for each year. I enjoy it.

I sometimes forget how good that year was for games. Some of those are still at the top of my favourite games list. I think I'd pick Mass Effect as GOTY, I still play through the trilogy every year or so.

Nice. Went ahead and added mine.

The game is good, and I put a decent amount of hours in those two days. But between my growing backlog and IRL commitments, I've pledged to move on from games that don't fully captivate me, and Doom has always been one of those where I eventually grow tired of the gameplay loop. Same happened with 2016 and Eternal, though I had more time to see those games through to the credits back in the day.

The mech/dragon levels suck though tbh.

I love how backloggd makes this kind of snooping possible if people use it properly

Ahh I see now you had it via Game Pass. That makes a lot more sense. Here I thought you'd dropped money on a new game and after 2 days were like

Pretty stacked year in retrospect, some decisions to be made there.

It's a great site, you just missed out on an event to vote for your favourite games in different categories that came out in 2015. They just revealed the overall winner to be Bloodborne (MGSV was a runner-up in many categories but never won).

They do these throwback votes quite regularly and it's always fun to think back on what games from each year you liked best.
