I am 60 hours into The Witcher 3 and still loving it. Still not really sure why it has taken me so many years and attempts to click with the game but I'm glad I am now at least. It's perhaps a bit of a shame that the Ocarina Of Time remake and GTA VI are out so soon as I'll inevitably either drop away from this or not fully give myself into those when I probably should, but I'll get done what I can first.

Still yet to click with me for some reason. Tried multiple times. I played the old Witchers on the 360 and had a similar issue. In fact in general I don't think I've ever played a series so much that I don't actually love lol. I have logged so many hours into it yet never really love it like I'm suppose to. Maybe one day. I'm playing Modern Warfare 4 at the moment. Easy time kill before GTA VI.

I'm playing Modern Warfare 4 at the moment. Easy time kill before GTA VI. That's fair I think especially if you didn't like the previous ones. The weird thing with me is that I love TW2 so I thought this was a given for me. I think the first few hours of the game feel a little drab and it doesn't help, I find the most fun in a lot of the unique side quests more than anything.

It's weird though, it's not like I didn't like them but they just didn't like capture my imagination the same way Final Fantasy or Mass Effect did, for whatever reason.

Maybe it's too open for you? I had that issue with some RPGs and it was definitely a factor here with TW3. I like an open world but sometimes it can be a bit too daunting to look at especially if it's so open early on. TW2 I found was a bit more contained and I liked that.

I'm also slowly picking away at Witcher 3 Remastered to distract myself from the wait for GTA VI. I've been on board with Witcher 3 since the very beginning; I still have the Limited Edition box that I pre-ordered way back, and the map that came with it is on the bottom of my door. For me, the biggest weakness was always the combat, but Remastered has changed that without making it yet another Dark Souls ripoff. It still feels the same as it always did, but it's more refined with more animations now.
If I could give anyone who might be interested in the game but can't get into it any advice at all, it would be this: never play on less than Death March difficulty, and go for an Alchemy or Signs build. It's the only way I can continue playing the game, and the only way it makes you feel like a Witcher, because everything is deadly, but you're deadlier as long as you keep your cool.

Played Dino Crisis 2 yesterday. Boy, games were too short back in the day! 🤣😅 I think I’m gonna replay Red Dead Redemption 2 again since it’s free until the 17th. I’m also gonna see what’s on sale in the PS store today.

Finally got back to Horizon: Zero Dawn. The remaster, this time.
It's been in the backlog for years, and I remember being distinctly unimpressed the first time around and not getting very far into the story or world at all. So far? That feeling is the same. Despite loving dinosaurs and robots, this post-apocalypse is so bland, haha. I'm willing to give it a few hours though, I'm not even out of the Embrace yet.
It is a very pretty game, but all I'm really feeling other than boredom is annoyance that we lost Killzone for this.

I've watched Leelee play a bit of this after a friend of hers recommended it and I have much the same feelings as you from what I've seen. Looks very nice visually and some interesting combat mechanics but all just a bit too much of the typical Sony first party blandness. But it has Lance Reddick so I have to give it some bonus points. I've read the sequel + DLC are quite good so maybe those are worth the shot, but the fact Leelee has drifted away from this one so quickly means she also didn't find it very interesting.

Yeah, a major reason I've decided to play it again is to hear Lance's work. Loved him since I first saw The Wire (which, in a bit of Heli/MGSF lore, I first discovered thanks to the OG board) and his was one of those 'celebrity' deaths that hit me quite hard despite never knowing the man himself.
Pretty sure I'm about to get to the full open world, so that'll be... fun, I guess? I remember the Ubisoft TM towers were quite novel in this game,
