We are basing any form of view on communications. And at the moment, the communication is that there is a potential role with the ability to Frame. OR there is a role that has the ability to affect Mafia. Maybe its because its themed but I am a bit confused. Where was it that Aragorn is a confirmed FINAL GIRL? I think the roles and ruling on things are causing some form of misunderstanding here.
The sherrif died, and the deputy became the sheriff. And yet here we are with no more information. I think we are literally walking in darkness unless someone can chime in on who visited who at night.
BB88 explained why we think Aragorn is The Final Girl. I am going to clarify the questions about the ability to frame and the ability to affect mafia.
We know there is an ability to frame - it is spelled out clearly in the abilities of The Killer:
"The Killer
The new Ghostface Killer. Has a halloween costume and a knife.
-The Killer and any accomplice they may have can perform a single night kill at the end of the night phase, it does not have to be The Killer themselves who perform the kill.
-The Killer and any accomplice in possession of the costume can visit any other player at the start of the night phase to plant the costume on them, unbeknownst to said player unless they are an accomplice.
-Any player performing a night kill with the costume in their possession will be disguised.
-Any player performing the night kill without the costume in their possession will show as themselves if seen by another player, including players they fail to kill.
-If a player dies while having the halloween costume in their possession, they will be assumed to be a killer.
-The Killer or an accomplice can retrieve the costume from a dead player at the start of a night phase."
This is important because it relates to another aspect of the gimmick with Duck's mafia rules that I think people are missing.
We don't know which roles are mafia or town besides The Killer. The Killer has accomplices that could be any one of the normal roles. That list of roles is not a list of town vs mafia roles - it is a list of all roles and we have to work out which ones are town and which ones are mafia.
The Killer and his unknown accomplice roles can place a costume on someone at the start of the night phase and if they die or are checked by the Sheriff then they will show up as being an accomplice
even if they aren't. This might have happened to Agent. He died during a night phase but he showed up as mafia. He was The Jock and the power of The Jock is that he chooses to stay with a different individual each night and if they are impacted by a night action, including being killed by mafia, then he suffers that effect:
"The Jock
Captain of the football team.
Can protect another player at night, but if that player is targeted The Jock will be affected by the night action instead. If they protect The Virgin, she will lose her invulnerability and can be killed by the Ghostface Killer."
So hopefully you can see the problem here and why we don't know what exactly happened to Agent. The first question is whether Agent was actually mafia or whether the ghost costume was placed on him, as per the abilities of The Killer and their accomplices. The second question is how exactly he died. If you look at his power it is very possible mafia intended to target someone else and accidentally killed him. That seems likely if he was framed.
And to answer your question in your second post we don't know how many people mafia need to kill because we don't know how many mafia roles there are.
