SaveMGO - MGO2
#1
With the remaster confirmed to not include MGO2, is anyone planning on stopping by after completing the single player campaign?

Still such a shame they're not including MGO on these.
I need to look into setting it up to be honest. I'm sure a fair few of us here would enjoy hopping on again, we had a member on a previous forum that spread the gospel and posted how to set it all up but that forum is gone now as is his knowledge. Do I need to mod my PS3 to get it running on it? (Probably a good thing to do anyway).

Such an amazing project though, so impressive what the community has done for this game.

Probably for the best, to be honest!

SaveMGO is under new management nowadays, and anything before 2021 will not be relevant. We've done a lot with it over the last 5 years.

MGO2 is PS3 and PC crossplay. We recommend using a controller in either case as mouse+keyboard is not natively supported, so is difficult to use as it emulates the right analog stick.

I'm online often, so be sure to salute me and say "hi!". 🫡

PC GUIDE:

PS3 GUIDE

PS3 users need to have HFW 4.85+ and HEN or 4.85+ CFW (OFW NOT SUPPORTED). If your PS3 does not have it then follow this tutorial

If you are facing the browser error , please follow this tutorial:

For HEN installation ignore the Pop-up message  prompting you to download and install by clicking the circle button , scroll down and install it there instead.

Once your PS3 has been modified then you can follow this tutorial

Amazing! Thanks for the info, I'll have a stab at installing the CFW on my PS3 when I have a free moment.

Playing Fox Hunt when it released made me miss MGO2's customisation so badly, as a teen I almost treated it like a dress up game at points lol, saving Reward Points to get that one item I was desperate for.

If you like the dress-up, you'll love what we have added lately. All the OG cosmetics are unlocked by default. Reward Points unlock community added cosmetics. 🫡

I've wanted to do this for years but I've always been reluctant to do it as I use my PS3 a fair bit all things considered so I don't want to install CFW.

You worried it would brick it? The consoles I've installed CFW on it's been relatively painless. If anything it'd make your experience using the PS3 easier.

Probably more a concern over getting banned. I know Sony haven't been in the habit of handing out bans for it in recent years (unlike before where they certainly did) but I'd still be worried as I pop on things like Red Dead Redemption every now and again.

Yeah I do get you. Sometimes I wonder how I get away with stuff like earning trophies for games I LEGALLY ACQUIRED on my Vita. I think the CFW involved for something like this is very unlikely to get you slapped with a ban though.
If something happened to my PSN account I would be distraught but I guess unless they change their plans I won't give too much of a shit by next console generation lmao (until they get CFW on PS6, that is)

I think roughly 60% of our players still use a PS3 for SaveMGO. HEN/MGO2 doesn't require PSN sign-in at all, and we've never had anyone banned by Sony in the years our PS3 playerbase has played.

If you're still concerned about it, that's your call. If you find yourself with a PC with a good CPU for emulation, feel free to swing by that way. 🫡
