What are you playing?

This is one of those games where I feel like it's so addictive its actually weaponised. I've never been able to break the chains of this fucking spreadsheet simulator

I'm currently boss of Port Vale trying to save them from relegation after quitting Blackpool and saving them from relegation because I wasn't given any funds to improve the squad

Some call it heresy, but I'm an editor kind of guy.

I understand it, but I don't do it. I think it would just break the immersion for me.

I beat Resident Evil Requiem twice when it released, which launched me on a binge of replaying Resi games. I finally smashed out Zero (which I never finished previously) then replayed the 1, 2 and 3 remakes and currently in the midde of the 4 remake.
The og trilogy got added to Steam recently so I'll give those a replay too soon.

Started and finished Silent Hill on my Vita. Its page on the PS3 webstore labels it as a psychological thriller rather than a horror and that's probably fair, but it still felt like way more of a horror to me. Despite the blocky PS1 graphics I have to say it really nails its atmosphere, I felt far too uneasy at varying points, specifically the first time when you head outside and it is pitch black and you realise just how difficult it is to navigate. I found myself just trying to evade and run away from enemies here far more than I typically would in a Resident Evil game which is one of those things that differentiates this from RE. I do have to say that I found it really, really awkward to play in certain places. In general the camera is utterly dreadful and unpredictable so you really have to just suck it up and get on with it if you're going to play it. I managed fine with it but can see why some people would just put it down. I did find a couple of sections really irritating too, namely the last two boss fights. Well the latter was just kind of really terrible design because I couldn't see the boss the entire time, and the fact that melee weapons can't hit it and that there is that "glitch" that means if you run out of ammo the fight ends is probably a testament to that (I'm guessing that may have been an active design choice because what were you going to do otherwise?). The former was just difficult because I had little health options and you almost need to stand directly in front of them to shoot at them but you then leave yourself too open to getting taken apart yourself. Not really sure how I managed it as I had actually turned it off in irritation initially and said I was done.

But, those gripes aside, I liked where the story went and I can see why there's a lot of love for the game despite its issues. I can't see myself playing it again any time soon but I'm already on the lookout for a copy of Silent Hill 2.

Started a new Stardew Valley playthrough. It's a great sit and chill in the garden playing it on the Steam Deck game. I put hours in to it yesterday while I "watched football" and it hardly touched the battery.

Goals:

I suggested this to Leelee a few years back when she said she wanted a new game and I knew her likes, hadn't played it myself but felt like what she wanted from all I had heard. She bounced off it pretty quickly then went back to start it again one day and has played it about 6 times now lol.

I'm finding myself thinking about it while working lol. It's nearly summer so it's blueberry time!

Checked some stats earlier. It's shifted 50mil units since its release in 2016 and over half of those have come in the past 3 years. It was 12th on Steams most active games earlier today and the past 30 days was in the top 8 of its most active months. All 10 years after release and two years since the last major update. And obviously it's just one person. The it's just astonishing.

It's a remarkable achievement and I've watched her play (joined in once or twice on co-op) and seems to have incredible depth and replayability. She's been following the creator ever since and is desperately awaiting his next game.

I'd kill for Haunted Chocolatier as well! But he keeps updating Stardew and it's like, bro, leave it be now. You've done good! No one will think less of you. Stardew will be expanded upon forever by modders at this point.
