#1 There are only 2 groups of players: Town and Mafia. The Game Master hosts and administrates the game.

#2 The Town wins by killing all Mafia players. The Mafia wins by outnumbering the Town players.

#3 The game has 2 alternating phases: Day and Night

- During the Day, ALL players meet up in the game thread to discuss and vote which one they should kill. The player who has more than 50% of the votes is Lynched and is out of the game.

- During the Night, Mafia players meet up secretly to decide which Citizen player they should kill. The player who is killed by the Mafia is Murdered and is out of the game.

- NO PLAYERS are allowed to post in the game thread during Night.

- Players with special roles can peform certain actions, depending on the current phase of the game.

#4 During the Day, you must vote to lynch someone. When you vote, you must present it bolded and in all-caps: LYNCH ARAGORN

#5 The game has several special roles, both for Innocent and Mafia. It's important to know the possible roles to have an idea of what others can do.

The Pequod's crew have actions that they can use in the Matrix or at night. They could be any of the following:

The One
Possesses special abilities to avoid being killed inside The Matrix and from machine attacks at night. However, their abilities cannot save them from being unplugged or being killed by a lightning rifle at night.

Captain
The Captain uses their authority to make their vote count as two. PM the gamemaster to activate your double vote. Can be used as often as the player chooses.

Hack
Hacks into The Matrix at night and check another player's code, revealing whether they have been in contact with the machines.

White Rabbit
Send a message to another player once per night.

Bug
Code a bug into another player once per night to track their movements, revealing who they visited that night once you enter the Matrix.

Lady in the Red Dress
Use to distract another player in The Matrix, preventing them from using items or night time actions until the following day phase.

Hardline
Use a landline phone to jack out of The Matrix, leaving you invulnerable to all actions that day but unable to vote or contribute to discussions until the following day phase. Can use this to escape being unplugged so long as the last vote cast wouldn't have ended the day phase.

Upload
Hack into The Matrix once a night to give another player a gun during day phases. The gun can be used to kill another player.

Code Alteration
Alter the Matrix's code to move items from one player to another. This may result in a feeling of déjà vu amongst players.

Lightning Rifle
Instead of a machine attack at night you can sneak out of your room and kill another player with a lightning rifle. This bypasses The One's ability but can only be used once.

Unable To Speak
A player of your choice's mouth is silenced, if they post during the day phase they die. Can be used once.
