In regards to current events in the ME, one of the reasons MGSF came back into mind was that I had a bit of a run in with a member in the DC private chat because I made a pretty broad/blunt statement of condemnation towards Israel for what happened in 2014. Old MGSF was overrun with bootlicking mongrels for the settler colony. Even when I was far less politically literate it stuck out like a sore thumb how even bleeding heart liberals would suddenly take pretty hard line stances on Israel (funny enough, one of them turned into a full blown fascist). In general most discourse around the Middle East is functionally illiterate because everyone either believes in divide & conquer federalism or plain imperialism dressed in blue or red.
Palestine has been and always will be a moral and ethical compass and the battleground to end battlegrounds in the fight against global imperialism and western hegemony; and for all that has transpired since October 7 it was at least made it clear to the naked eye that there are no middle grounds.
I'd be curious to know who went full fash (in the unlikely event I actually remember who they were). In the incident I referenced, the core of the issue was that someone was Jewish-American - so I think they interpreted the comment I made as being antisematic - when it absolutely wasn't. There was no reference to Judaism or the Jewish people in anything I said. tl;dr I wasn't booted from the org, although things were a wee bit frosty in the org chat for awhile as far as I remember.
But yeah...I find it fucking wild that the centrist MSM are still parroting this line of 'Israel has a right to defend itself.' I'm UK based and I can't listen to the BBC's coverage because it's utterly spineless. I mean The Pod Save World (former Obama staffer, so...y'know, basically neolibs) guys have been far stronger in calling out Israel, Bibi and the far right wing government than the 'impartial' BBC have been. Mind you, when you've got a human rights lawyer who can't call out human rights abuses you've not got much chance of your government acting on or your media reporting on, y'know, war crimes, acts of genocide and ethnic cleansing.
I remember Freeman turned out to be a full blown white nationalist despite being non-white. And a few people tried to act like him being a racist didn't mean they couldn't be friends.
My mom had the perfect analogy for the whole conflict:
"If Palestine throws rocks, Israel will throw live grenades."
We knew pretty much the instant October 7th happened that the response from Netanyahu and his equally bloodthirsty cohorts was going to be absolutely horrifying. It continues blowing my mind that we're seeing these college kids all across the country call for an end to the genocide and all the powers-to-be can think to do is call that being antisemitic. Now, WWE's Linda McMahon is calling for Columbia U to lose its accredited status because of its rampant ""antisemitism"" problem.

Has anyone seen the Freedom Floatila story and some of the Israeli officials statements? One of their officials has proposed to make them watch footage from October 7th so they can see what 'the people they're helping did.' Whenever these fuckers are in the Haig, I hope they're forced to watch the bombing of hospitals, schools - shown every image of every injury inflicted on women, children and people who had absolutely nothing to do with Hamas or October 7th. Monsters.

Yeah, I did see that. Same time I'm so used to the BBC/Guardian's headlines that it barely registered.
Again, we've a human rights lawyer of a PM who can't recognise when the Geneva Convention is being broken ('We're going to starve Gaza, nothing gets in' 'Israel has a right to defend itself.'). To quote a mid-00s drama badly remade by Americans: 'that statement is not awash with ambiguity.'

Though it's not much of a hope, I can just vaguely remember hearing about one of the previous Flotillas from 2008 being outright bombed by the Israelis, so I can't believe the goalposts are at "well at least they only kidnapped the Flotilla crew this time(?)" but they are. I'm genuinely relieved Greta & Co. weren't killed, my expectations were so low. They're not out of the woods yet as long as they are in Israeli custody, but it's something for now.
As for making war criminals view their own crimes, I have witnessed a video of an Israeli reservist picking up the
nasty shit, be warned:
US Marines are being deployed to L.A. in the coming 48 hours it seems. I expected Martial Law to go into place quicker than this, but I guess they're testing the waters before going nationwide with it. We're so fucked.

Presence of people like Greta is why it doesn't get bombed or why the people onboard won't face more severe consequences - PR damage control. They will be deported to their countries quietly, and the world will move on while the genocide unfolds.
All attempts are rationalizing the Israeli response with October 7 should be met with revulsion on the simple basis of armed resistance being the right of every occupied people. It's not worth engaging with any bootlickers on their own terms.

The only thing the Flotilla managed to accomplish will be that those onboard will most likely report what they experienced in Israeli detention. Liberals/Westerners clearly don't give a fuck about the brown people experiencing it, but they'll listen to some other white people. But even then, they will not have experienced the same prison system that the average Palestinian experiences; nowhere close.

Tangentially related to what you said about every occupied peoples having the right to armed resistance, at this point, the inevitable is falling into place. Hamas is still fighting and evolving their tactics. The war will be reaching two years soon and still they are planning and executing ambushes. The actual fighting takes place purely on their terms, like France/US in Vietnam, all Israel can do is bomb the shit out of everything and hope that kills some men with guns. But they still come out of the tunnels, and they always do so when Israel isn't looking. They are not running out of ammunition, and they are not running out of fighters. In the recent rounds of negotiations, Hamas said they're willing to give up governance but will not disarm. They are becoming the de facto state military of the Palestinian people, and there's not a damn thing Israel can do about it.
The Viet Minh becomes the North Vietnamese Army before our eyes, but the road to Victory Day is absolutely fucking excruciating.

Israel just bombed Iran, my families home town no less.
My only hope in this is that Iran's response is just a show like it usually is when they aren't accidentally shooting planes out of the sky. But with Trump back in office, I don't even know how that would play out anymore.
We know that the U.S. can intercept Iran's missiles. So when Iran retaliates, I'm hoping that's the result as well, because if it isn't, then I'm genuinely terrified for what will happen to my fellow Iranians.
