Had very little time with the system yesterday after having a few things crop up, literally just managed to set it up, do the Switch transfer and install Mario Kart, along with playing a few minutes of Switch Sports with my son. Can't get HDR settings right, calibration wouldn't work (can't make one of the two images/patterns invisible) so it was super bright and washed out, going to fix my TV settings later on and try again but looking at threads elsewhere I'm not the only one with issues so it's likely not an issue with my TV.
Had huge connectivity issues with Switch joycons on it which is not making me hopeful that using them regularly with the SW2 is going to be viable long-term, long input delay and constantly knocking off and having to be resynced.

Damn fr? My Pro Controller connected just fine and I was using it while my JoyCon2s charged.
Haven't tried my Pro controller yet so hopefully that's more stable but yeah, I mean the game was almost unplayable with the way the joycons were.
What are the thoughts on Mario Kart then? Only got my first chance to play it last night and just got in a few games. Love the knockout mode, so tense. I probably haven't seen much of it but I did hope the free roam mode had more to it.
The free roam mode seems to have a fair amount to me? The missions seem plentiful and there’s lots of stuff to look out for to collect or hit. It’s not really pushed as a main mode which is a bit weird when the game is practically designed around it but it’s very cool.
I think Grand Prix feels a bit off with the driving between the courses not being seamless. It makes them feel a bit weird and almost anti-climactic. It’s amazing there’s so much variety with what tracks can connect to eachother but I kind of wish Grand Prix was the classic 3 laps (which ARE still in the game. You just have to choose VS Race to do them.)
But yeah I’m loving it. Actually engaging with the time trials too which I don’t normally do this early on. Also the way you unlock costumes and characters is a lot of fun and the roster is so bonkers which I’m chuffed with (I’ve always liked playing as run of the mill Mario enemies in things)

I probably didn't go around in free roam enough so that sounds good. I love the massive roster too, I knew it was big but I was like "LEELEE LOOK!" when I saw how many unlockables there were (although I do wish the alternate costumes weren't on separate slots).
I like the seamless connectivity but I do also like the classic startup so I don't mind the Grand Prix design.
I like it too but it feels a bit odd. I do just wish Grand Prix was classic to differentiate them more as well as keep older fans pleased. My casual housemate who played a lot of MK8 was like “I’m not sure I like this…”on Grand Prix but on Knockout found it super good.
Also yeah I don’t get how they fumbled the costumes so bad? Like I know you can arrange by character which is slightly less weird but they already HAD it perfect in MK8 where you’d pick a character and then a costume.

I played that game so much back in the early 00's. Weapon master was a fun, if basic, campaign.

Yeah I need to give it a try. I played some of it in SCVI when I bought that around release (hardly played it). What console did you play on back then? Link is a lot of fun-maybe more so than Heihachi who I played on Christmas Eve with
Jassassino after buying it on PS2 for like £2.

I am in the unique position of having played three versions of SCII. The Gamecube one, Xbox one, and online HD one with both Spawn and Heihachi.
Nightmare & Voldo were my best characters in SCII. Nightmare was really OP, especially if you unlocked his ultimate weapon. Probably why they split his moveset between him and Siegfried later on (I never played past SCIV). If you need a hand with weapon master, let me know! There's some fun secret areas in it.
I also still do have some of the ScII soundtrack saved to my video game music playlist.
