What are you watching?
Watched Paris, Texas last night. Bought the Curzon 4K that came out just over a year ago on release but only finally got around to watching it now. Very affecting movie. Of late I've been drawn towards a lot of movies from very small parts of it, this was one that struck me years ago when browsing a local store just from its cover (which is arguably one of the main reasons why I pick up anything these days), so I knew little about it apart from its significance in Wim Wenders' filmography. I didn't expect it'd be at all like what it turned out to be. I knew some said it was very slow, and it is, but there's a real beauty in its lack of pace and how long it holds on certain shots and scenes, particularly the climax. It's one of those rare movies that feels like it is a wonderful example of a very specific point and time in a certain part of the universe.
