Frankenstein was the perfect story for him to tackle. It suits his style so well
I wanted to see this in theatres so bad but couldn't make it work. Will watch with the missus soon hopefully.
I wanted to see it in theatres too but I've been hella sick recently, and didn't want to be that guy who was coughing like crazy through the whole movie haha

I was that guy back in the summer. Went to see Superman when I was so ill I barely made it out of bed to get to the local cinema in town. I felt so guilty, but even in the depths of flued up delirium, I really enjoyed the movie.
Watched a bit of Ghost in the Shell II: Innocence earlier. It's available (or at least the dub is) on YouTube for free, and I've been dying to see it since I first learned there even were more GITS movies. I actually have a physical copy, but Amazon lied to me and it's only German. Which would be fine if I spoke German, but it's really quite annoying that Amazon didn't make it clear that there's no English options at all. Really enjoyed the half hour or so that I watched, but I have an assignment due and I need to crack on with that. I'll finish the movie in the morning!

Rewatched Mad Max: Fury Road last night. Been a long while since I first watched it, it was the first thing I watched when I got a 4K TV but it was just a Netflix stream. I don't actually have a 4K copy but have a Blu-ray copy and even that looks and sounds phenomenal. Such an incredibly well-paced and gorgeous action movie.

Seeing that movie in the cinema was one of the most exhilarating theatre experiences of my entire life. George Miller is a MASTER. BTW, former Black Flag bassist Kira Roessler was part of the Oscar winning sound editing team for that movie! Always thought that was a dope detail, haha. The punks are winning!
Watched Sinners again earlier, first time at home. What a fucking movie! Love that Jack O'Connell is starting to blow up. I've been watching him since he was like 16 and he's one of the most ferociously talented actors I've ever seen.

Very jealous, I hope I'll get the chance to catch Fury Road in theatre at some stage. My cinema has had it on once or twice in the last few years but hasn't worked out.
Love Sinners too. Have to rewatch it soon although I ordered a nice edition of it that won't be out until just before the end of the year so I'll be waiting!

Ah, I know those feels. Learned a few days ago that my local chain showed Escape From New York last week, but I was travelling up to Scotland and wasn't in town. Felt a tangible sadness that I missed it, lmao.

Whilst I've been in Wales I've missed loads of quite rare screenings of films I've been waiting to see in the cinema. I need my city of independent cinemas back!
I saw Fury Road in the cinema several times. First time was release day, and the last time was for the Black + Chrome edition they did. It's such a good film. Furiosa kind of disappointed me upon first watching it but I do think there's a lot of good in there and I was desperate to see it in cinema again before it left just to give it another go and because I was so perturbed by how much it was flopping at the box office. I didn't manage to make it but I'm glad to have at least rallied a group to go see it on its release.

I had a not great time with Furiosa but also felt like giving it another go before it left theatres but couldn't. One of the things I like about Fury Road most is the significance of the practical effects, Furiosa felt like the use of a green screen and CG was just too obvious in places which was a shame. Completely understand why it was the case here but it was still disappointing. But there were a lot of scenes that I liked, especially that great opening. It was also unlucky that I couldn't see it at my preferred cinema and had to go to another where the screen wasn't nearly as good, the seats were dirty and the sound was way too low so I felt I owed the movie another chance. I'll get around to rewatching it soon.

I watched the first 3 episodes of IT: Welcome to Derry. I wasn't in love with the recent 2 films but thought they were ok. This new show seems promising so far, but I'm not sure how I feel about them trying to tie it in with another certain King story.
I also checked out the first episode of Pluribus and thought it was quite good, I'm excited to check out more. I really liked Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul so I'm happy the same creator is still putting out new stuff outside of the BB universe
