Yeah looks like it requires mods to properly function. If you haven't played half life 2 it's a must-play, and if you have the entropy zero mods are very good

What? Why can't the Steam Deck run Deus Ex? It's on Steam, right?

It's on steam, yeah, but it won't run on the steam decks native resolution without modding, and I think there are a few other issues with controls and the like that are solved by slight modding. Granted, I've tried to play deus ex on the steam deck (mainly because I don't have a steam deck in the first place) but all the guides I've seen online on getting deus ex working on the deck seem to involve some degree of modding
