Anyone struggling with the mobile UX, btw?
Kestrel ayyy what kind of cars do you work on? Recently looking to start modding my R/T Challenger. Mostly stuff from the 80s. Right now I'm working on a 1987 Mitsubishi Starion. Rolling shell someone was going to do an LS swap on decades ago but left it to sit in a field. It's last registration was in 1991 lol
I sourced an engine a while back that was in rough shape, I'm getting the pistons and crank balanced right now. I still have to go down to a junkyard in Denver to pull a transmission.
And yeah, mobile is kinda broken, just switch it to desktop mode and it'll show you everything you need

Sorry guys, that “mobile” setting was never meant to make its way to you.I was testing mobile themes but one of them snuck through quite invasively. I’ve tried to remove it, please post in Help if you still have it for whatever reason.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever believe I'd find myself in Org Chat again.
Ghost Babel Theme fucking rocks btw Good to see you again, brother. I can't believe it's been over a decade since we started GRU together (and since I fumbled the leadership bag lmao). Hope you've been well. Holy shit. Crab. It's been 12 years since we started GRU together. I vaguely remember there being some kind of vote to oust you from the org and I can't for the life of me understand why. The guy that replaced you was kind of a weirdo, I remember him claiming to have eaten human flesh before, but not much else. You were always a cool mf and I lamented your loss in GRU for a long time
I've been well. Sort of. I was in the Marine Corps for 6 years, been all over the place. I got out a few years ago and have been just kinda drifting all around the US ever since. I'm in Wyoming for now, I do freelance mechanic work and rebuild engines for project cars. I'm running marksmanship classes on the side too. Looking to move again, maybe somewhere down South. How's life been treating you?
It genuinely warms my heart that to an entire group of people, I am eternally known simply as "Crab".
I was ousted because I was 13 and did not understand when I was being trolled and could not shut the fuck up lmao. All it would have taken was for you or BK to PM me and be like "stop having a meltdown in Org Chat" and I would've listened, but Edo saw an opportunity and took it. Looking back at my post history and old PMs, honestly I'm glad. How I ever got to be a part of 4 orgs and in charge of 2 is incredible. Long-term GRU definitely flourished without me crashing out all over the Civil War thread.
And had I never been coup'd, I would have never started LRA, which was easily my magnum fucking opus. It just didn't get any funnier than that.
But yeah. Life-wise, started college in Colorado in 2017 and flunked out. Started going down a bad path until I got hit by a car and then moved home to CT. Fell in love, got engaged, then for the past two years went back to college and finally finished. Now I am deeply unemployed, just trying to figure out the next move. Just working on personal projects for now, hoping to get this short vampire action movie made soon.
Really glad to see you here though, and happy to hear you're still shooting too. Someday if you end up closer to my neck of the woods it'd be cool to attend one of your classes

I can’t tell you how happy it feels to have something like the old forums back with so many people here.
MGSF was such a significant part of my life and this finally feels like we’ve got it back again.
I’m quite emotional about it. Just casually posting in org chat again in the dead of the night.

In all seriousness I joined MGSF 17 years ago, that's a significant amount time that I cherish and I'm not losing if I don't have to.

I joined MGSF in 2006, coming off a couple of other, smaller Metal Gear forums closing due to drama and inactivity. You guys have been around in my life for quite a while and I've had some great laughs and memories with you as I grew up.

Ethan! So good to see you dude.
We joined the same year, insane to think that was almost two decades ago.

I personally just missed being able to get people in smoking areas to stop talking to me by telling them I was a very big deal on a Metal Gear Solid forum

I think I joined in 2008 so I was 17, not long before MGS4's release. Spent far too long on that forum and made just over 20K posts, but I'd never take any of it back. I was very juvenile and ignorant when I joined and for a long period after that, but I genuinely credit all of you and everyone else I interacted with the most there for helping me to mature as a person. Sounds like a funny thing to say really, but I've felt that way shortly after I joined DC back then and realised the growing I had to do. Even now just looking back on org threads over there gives me the feels. I could spend so many nights just chilling on the forum.

Not a funny thing to say, I absolutely agree. MGSF definitely shaped a lot of who I am as a person. And made me lasting friendships that have spanned across three different decades.
