This means I've only not played PW now.
Having played MGS4, I can now say I definetly believe Wayno should be in Ravensword, as Raging Raven juggled me quite a bit with her explosions.
Give me your full review of MGS4 and we'll discuss it for a few pages right here in org chat
Well I think....
Hang on let me put a blindfold and earplugs in Wayno...
Spoiler:
Ok so I liked it a bit more than I thought I would. It does bridge the gap between MGS3 and V gameplay wise.
The Good
I wans't sure about sneaking through battlefields. Took some getting used to, but I enjoyed it. Still prefer more MGS1/2/3 style.
Speaking of MGS1, it was nice to see Shadow Moses again.
I liked B&B more than I thought I would. I was worried they'd be, how should I put it, like Quiet.
Octocamo was better than MGS3's system. Same with not treating wounds.
The Bad
Those briefing cutscenes are long. Like Kojima already put the video in video games but my lord.Lots of telling not showing
Chasing Naomi in South America and tailing in Europe got tedious faster than I thought they would've.
Goes hand in hand with point one, but I wish the B&B's story was told better than through Drebin's calls.
Still don't like The Patriot reveal after 20 years. Same with nanomachines, son.
I disliked the inventory system. Why can't I equip more than like 5 items? They aren't back at base or something, they're just in a different menu I have to move them too.
The Perplexing
Was it really easier to put in a casting plant that didn't exist than the cargo elevators?
No one had been to Shadow Moses in 10 years. Just a bunch of nukes, superweapon, all lying there and...no? Ok.
Later MGS games have this as well, but why so many guns? How many different versions of an assault rifle do I need?
Spoiler:
Had you already watched the whole game when it came out or was the story new to you as well? MGS4 was such a product of its time, as a PS3 tech showcase and begrudged nostalgia bait, it must feel odd playing it today for the first time. I quite liked the first half, even act 3 I find overhated, but with how intolerable it gets by the end I don't think I could bring myself to install it again even for the good bits.
