Nintendo Switch 2 Thread
#71
Looks like it did pretty well here.

Quote:Nintendo Switch 2 is the fastest-selling Nintendo machine in UK history, NielsenIQ data reveals.
It beat the previous best-selling hardware launch for the company (2010’s Nintendo 3DS), and outsold the launch of the Nintendo Switch by more than two to one, the company revealed. Note: The Nintendo Switch was very supply constrained at launch. Nintendo Switch 1 did over 80,000 units at launch, and Nintendo 3DS managed 113,000, according to Nintendo. NielsenIQ does not share full sales figures.
Quote:Here are the best-selling game console launches in the UK excluding handhelds (units)

1. PlayStation 5
2. PlayStation 4
3. Xbox Series
4. Nintendo Switch 2
5. PlayStation 3
6. Xbox One
7. Nintendo Wii
8. Nintendo Switch
9. Xbox 360
10. Xbox One X

Good for Nintendo. Am I alone in being surprised that the launch of the PS3 was more successful than that of the 360 and the wii?

Think there was a lot of scepticism around the Wii on release but the casual market eventually jumped onto it to help make it so successful.

Nintendo randomly reveal Splatoon spin off for Switch 2. Love Splatoon so cool that it’s getting its first spin off.

I adored Splatoon but couldn't keep up with how competitive people were once 2 came out, kept getting my ass handed to me lol

I’ve always really enjoyed their single player outings. The DLC for Splatoon 2 was so good. I need to get back on Splatoon 3 and finish the campaign and play the DLC for that. I go back and chip away at a little bit every now and then but I also spend a good amount of time playing the card game mode they added (which aesthetically and world building wise makes so much sense)

My Switch 2 won’t turn on whatsoever. I’d not played it for a few days as I’d been busy and now the power button just does nothing. Doesn’t tell me to charge it. Doesn’t make a sound. Nought. I’ve tried the troubleshooting written online but nothing so far…
Guess I’m not playing Mario Kart tonight lol. Will leave it plugged in over night in case it’s just being lazy..

That's a very odd problem, hope it isn't a long-term issue for you. Seems way too early to be dealing with something like that.

Yeah still nothing so far. People say to put it in the dock and hold the power button for 20 seconds but that doesn’t help. The green light on the dock flashes for a split second when you put it in but that’s it.

I guess I might have to send it off to be repaired? I never had any of this with any of the Switches I owned and the Switch 2 feels like a sturdier console so I’m a bit surprised.

Sounds like it, massive pain in the ass if so. I'd imagine you should have the right to go back to wherever you got it from and look for a replacement given you only got it but idk if you want to go through the potential hassle. But dealing with Nintendo will be hassle too.
