How do you 100% the original games?
#1
Hey,

I have the original discs for:

MGS1
MSG2: Substance
MGS3: Subsistence
MGS4

and I was wondering since there wasn't a trophy system for PS2, what counts as 100%ing these games?

Is it all about reaching the highest rank and completing the VR missions when it comes to MGS2:Substance or what does the community see as clearing and completing the classics?
While for MSG1 and MGS3 its just reaching the highest rank?

MGS4 is the easiest one since it actually has the trophies for it. I know I could go out and buy one of the collections and follow the trophies but I'm really enjoying the nostalga trip with playing the games on their said system.

Cheers!

MGS4 is definitely not the easiest MGS game to 100%, I'd say it is comfortably the most difficult and time consuming in the series and perhaps out of most games you'll ever play lol. You have to complete 8 playthroughs minimum to do it and that's only if you're dedicating each playthrough to very specific aims which you'll have to stick with in a very guided manner, some of them will be extraordinarily long while others have to be really quick and are difficult (namely getting the Big Boss Emblem).

I ment it's easiest to 100% since it has trophies compared to the others, as in it has trophies you can follow and achieve compared to MGS1/MGS2/MGS3 where its community based. Not talking about game difficulty  Big Grin

MGS1: Get highest rank on highest difficulty, get all ghost photos, get both special items, complete all VR Missions with best time.

MGS2: Substance: Get highest rank on highest difficulty, get all dogtags, complete all Snake Tales and VR Missions with best time.

MGS3: Subsistence: Get highest rank on highest difficulty, get all camouflage and face paint, capture all types of food, shoot all Kerotans.

MGS4: the Platinum pretty much covers it.
