Looking to get an opinion on this. I thought she was written well enough, but I don't think she was worthy of being a character that the entire franchise post MGS3 should've revolved around. MGS4 ended up becoming about the birth of The Patriots (via Zero verses Ocelot), and PW was again dealing about BB's trauma about having the kill The Boss at the behest of the US govt. I just...didn't care? I might've been far too excited for where I thought things might've been going after MGS2 (which is still, for me, the best Metal Gear game).

I might feel differently when I replay 3, or when I get to Delta, but from a story perspective, and for it's ramifications on the rest of the series, MGS3 might be my least favourite Metal Gear.

If I'm alone in this totally fair, I'm quite used to holding the minority opinion aha.

I made a similar thread on Metal Gear Legacy a few years back so I'm making it here too because it was a fun little project.

In 2021, when I was in COVID lockdown for several months, I was replaying the MGS games and had the idea to try and watch all the movies that were mentioned in MGS3, since movies of the 50's and 60's were brought up a lot.

I watched 40 films that the game mentioned, ranging from: war movies, monster movies, alien invasion movies, science fiction, and anti-nuke movies. A lot of them were easy enough to find on streaming or blu ray, but some were so obscure that I had a really difficult time tracking them down.
It was actually a lot of fun and it gave me a real love of 50s and 60s era movies, something I hadn't really delved into so much before

Here's the list in alphabetical order:

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954)
Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948)
The Alamo (1960)
The Alligator People (1959)
The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (1953)
The Big Broadcast (1932)
The Blob (1958)
The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957)
Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954)
The Curse of the Werewolf (1961)
Dracula (1931)
Dr, Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
Earth vs The Spider (1958)
A Fistful of Dollars (1964)
The Fly (1958)
Forbidden Planet (1956)
Frankenstein (1931)
From Russia with Love (1963)
Godzilla (1954)
The Great Escape (1963)
The Guns of Navarone (1961)
The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
It Came from Beneath the Sea (1955)
It Came from Outer Space (1953)
It Conquered the World (1956)
Jason and the Argonauts (1963)
The Last War (1961)
The Magnificent Seven (1960)
Mondo Cane (1962)
North by Northwest (1959)
On the Beach (1959)
Plan 9 from Outer Space (1957)
The Quatermass Xperiment (1955)
Rebecca (1940)
Seven Samurai (1954)
Them! (1954)
The Thing from Another World (1951)
The War of the Worlds (1953)
