MGF Mini Tournament 2 - black king - 04-10-2026

Welcome to the second MGF Mini Tournament!

The weather is cooling and spooky season is upon us. What better way to drum up some spooks than the scariest games going head to head? Yes indeed, this tournament is the best horror style game! Does that mean most fun? Most scary? It's up to you!

This will be the last tournament of the year, for the next one will be the Grand Tournament in late February. So make sure to have a scary amount of fun in this one!

First round ends on October 7th, at midnight....because that's the spookiest time of day. Of course every round ends on Saturday at midnight with the final round ending on Halloween.

Just voted. I pray that Alien Isolation does not win; I dread that game.

Dread as in dislike it? I think it does horror and suspense pretty well. That in mind, I've never finished it. Just not my genre I guess. 

By the way all, I figured out how ties work on the brackets. The site "flips a coin" in the event of a tie.

Dread as in it is the scariest piece of interactive horror fiction I have ever experienced, haha. I only have to think of the

I think since the holiday is for spookiest, whichever game is more spooky. But I do wonder, do jump scares = spooky?

I'm sort of going for "best horror experience", so kind of a blend of the two. I like spooks, but the spooks are diminished if the game is shite to play.

For my money, The Last of Us is the best game in the bracket, but it has no business winning a bracket designed around horror games.

Best horror experience? I like it!

Look....I randomized the placements. Something had to go against the juggernaut of Luigi's Mansion. I mean could you imagine Luigi in the Spencer Mansion instead? That vacuum cleaner already wrecks the ethereal dead, I'd hate to see what it does to the physical dead. Luigi would be running around singing this:

Alright that does it for round 1. Let's see how we did:


  • Alien Isolation overcame Alan Wake (6-2)
  • Outlast barely overcomes Until Dawn (5-4)
  • Silent Hill trashed F.E.A.R. (8-1)
  • Castlevania squeaks by Amnesia: The Dark Descent (5-4)
  • Dead Space beats out Left 4 Dead (6-2)
  • The Last of Us barely beats FNAF (4-3)
  • Resident Evil somehow beat Luigi's Mansion (6-2)
  • The Evil Within won the coin toss between it and Dead Rising (4-4)
  • Just kidding it moved Dead Rising ahead despite giving the trophy to Evil Within. Weird that's never happened before. Undecided


Round 2
