Death Stranding's OST - 2generic4you - 17-06-2025

Has anyone else discovered new artists or music through this game? My biggest surprises were Pop Toxic by Gen Hoshino and Ghost from Au/Ra. I still keep them saved in my playlist.

Yeah I love Pop Virus, without a doubt my favourite track from the OST. I wasn’t the biggest fan of a lot of the soundtrack-a lot of the English songs that were mainly indie dudes singing softly with some guitars. It felt quite divorced from the synth score which I really liked. But at the same time…I fully believe Sam would be bumping most of the tracks in the soundtrack while making deliveries lol

Do you think DS2 will finally give us an iPod type device to listen to music whenever we want ?

Reportedly there is finally a portable music player in DS2 that unlocks after a certain mission, but it's only accessible when you're on the chiral network.  So it's less iPod and more Spotify, but its existence is a massive improvement over the original already.

I honestly adored the music in DS1, both the original score from Ludvig Forrsell and a lot of the licensed tracks.  My favorite track was easily Ludens.

Kojima really got me into "Bring Me The Horizon" and "Low Roar," which made Ryan Karazija's passing that much lousier.

And now, I'm already really into Woodkid, thanks to DS2.

I actually kind of like that. Hammers home the everyday benefits of something like the chiral network. Could make BT encounters even scarier too to have the music glitch and crackle out when they’re around.

“I’ll Keep Coming” was the best utilised song in the whole game I think. It being used in that early trailer made it hit so much harder too.

You reminded me of how ahead of the time MGS4 was. Even now I don't think we ever had a fully utilized music player in a game besides Watch Dogs 2.

Speaking of which, I personally would love if there were some enemy interactions that utilized the music player like in MGSV. Maybe we could pacify MULEs or Distract BTs with it.
