Update 2.0: Giveaways, Themes, & Premium Membership - Dirty Duck - 11-06-2025 Hello my terrible children, I hope you're all well. We've now been operational for nearly 3 months! It's been a learning process but I hope you've all enjoyed being a part of this so far, it's been great hanging out on the internet with you all! ||NEW THEME|| So I was a bit too busy to rustle something up at the time but we met our second Forum Goal of 100 Threads-well done, everybody! Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty won the vote for what game our next theme should be based on so here's the new Dead Cell Theme: Inspired by Ashley Wood's art from the Metal Gear Solid comics I went for a monochrome design that's (hopefully) easy on the eyes. Let me know what you think and as always get in touch about any visual oddities or glitches you experience! ||NEW CODENAMES|| There are still many of the original batch of codenames yet to be earned but to mark the occasion MGS2 codenames have been added to the pot! And what's nice about the MGS2 batch is: They're animated! (I'm getting MSN emoticon flashbacks.) Much like the original codenames the methods of earning these are something for you all to discover and make known to one another-so keep an eye out for them on other members! Happy collecting! ||AUTO EMBED|| For all you BB Code haters out there I have news: BB Code has done more for the world than you ever will. You no longer have to use it to embed linked images and videos! Links from a wide range of social media sites will now embed just by posting the link! ||NEW SUBFORUMS|| A couple of new subforums have been added: Giveaways & Competitions can be found in Landing Zone. Head over there to take part in our first giveaway! Death Stranding 2's Spoiler Forum has been added to the DS2 forum in anticipation of the game's release. Please refrain from spoiling the game outside of this subforum! The password to get in is "I understand". The Nomad can be found in Tactical Socialising Action below Organization Chat. This forum is there to arrange forum hangouts. In the future we plan to host some movie nights and a game club, but for now its there to arrange amongst yourselves! ||PHILANTHROPY MEMBERSHIP|| To increase the opportunity to host things like the giveaways and for generally improving the site we have a Ko-fi setup for donations. To show thanks to those who support the site we're introducing the Philanthropy Membership. This is a premium membership for those who give monthly donations on Ko-fi. There are two options to choose from: Infinity Bandana gives the following benefits: a coloured username of the user's choice a Philanthropy button in their postbit access to post templates which allow you to set a default style for your posts a special codename your name on a donor page double entry on giveaways early access to new themes and features more PM space or for those who want to be less public, Stealth Camo gives the following benefits: double entry on giveaways early access to new themes and features more PM space Now I'm aware this may be slightly controversial and so I've tried to make it so that any of the perks you get in this membership are just that: perks. I don't want to withhold important features from our general userbase so what's included here is supposed to just be a bonus for those who choose to support the site financially. Furthermore, any of the money from these donations will go back into the site: paying for upkeep, funding giveaways and upgrades, and promoting the site. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this and I'm open to making changes. Maybe there's a perk you think should be added? Let me know! It's a work in progress! And I can hear the outcry of certain members so rest assured: coloured names will also be available as temporary awards for winning competitions down the line. ||MGS QUOTES|| I've added a sidebar that displays quotes from the MGS games as chosen by the forum. Feel free to throw a quote into the ring! ||NEXT FORUM GOAL|| Now looking ahead to our next forum goal we're aiming for 50 members. It's our toughest goal yet I'm aware but I feel like working together we can achieve it. Look how many of you have already found your way here! So I ask of you all: can you think of one person you think would enjoy the site? Be them an old member or a real life friend; if we all extend an invitation to just one person who signs up that's our goal met. If you're too ashamed of being on a Metal Gear forum in 2025 then I understand. So write an anonymous letter directing someone here and conceal your identity-We'll all help!
