We get taxis paid for us home if we work past 10PM. Last night I get in, first thing he says to me "so who are you voting for in the presidential election.. I won't vote for any fucker that wants a united Ireland, don't like any blue collars either, and I don't like the other one, doesn't look like he knows what he's doing". Over an hour drive and then he starts driving in the middle of the road about 20 mins before we get there and almost crashes 3 times and then wastes 5 minutes trying to find the app on his phone I have to sign because he was TWENTY PAGES for them and about ten are blank but he still keeps scrolling through them.

Brought Leelee down to Cork yesterday to the first Comic Con there as Roger Clark (Arthur from Red Dead Redemption 2) was there. She watched me play the game years and years ago when it came out, and despite never showing much of an interest Westerns or games like that she became enamoured with it and went to play it herself. At that stage she hadn't really played much for a few years apart from pretty casual games but even then she had never played anything on that scope before. It's gotten her into much bigger games since but she's still gone back to RDR2 more than anything else. Think she's played it about 6 times through at this point which would mean she's on her 7th playthrough currently, and we checked the other day and she's up to 400 hours played.
Roger was lovely, such a friendly person and he took multiple pictures with her and you can see she's properly laughing and smiling in a few of them even though she kept telling me not to push her to get a picture with him. She was laughing because when he took the pictures he decided to shout her name with that funny yell he does sometimes if you fall off a cliff with Arthur in the game and she couldn't contain herself.

I spent the day yesterday in Sheffield for my girlfriend's brother's 30th birthday which was nice
Had an absolute mare getting there tho
Work have put me up in a cottage for accommodation (with 4 other guys I work with...as if we're all bezzie mates on a staycation. Very stupid.)
Everyone but me had gone home
Storm starts in the night
Power out in the morning
Electric showers so no shower
Stood on a massive spider barefoot while walking around in the dark
Cottage is a drive away from the nearest village and I don't drive so I try and book an uber or a taxi
None will come to get me
Trees have fallen down blocking the road to the cottage
I walk 40 minutes along nothing but country lanes
Get drenched
Lots of changes on the journey many of which require waiting around for a while outside in the howling wind while my clothes are soaked
I eventually get to Sheffield 6 1/2 hours after I left the cottage
Then today I get a call from my colleague saying we've been moved to another accomodation effective immediately so he's been in my room and packed all my stuff up himself to move it. Makes me feel kind of weird lol and I also hope he didn't just chuck them in the back of his van as I have a new MacBook and my PS5 with me
The mad long journey does mean I've finally finished Metal Gear Acid though!
