Updating my retro gaming setup with a PS3 so I can play MGS4. Found a PS3 Super Slim for 60$ and currently watching a bid on MGS4 + Peggy back game guide for 20$. Im very satisfied with the PS3 purchase, here are some images:

So with the PS3 in the family my retro setup for MGS will be like this:
[*]MGS1 = PS2 + CRT TV
[*]MGS2: Substance = PS2 + CRT TV
[*]MGS3: Subsistence = PS2 + CRT TV
[*]Portable Ops = PSP
[*]Peace Walker = PSP ( only missing PW in this list )
[*]MGS4 = PS3

Do you guys have a simliar setup or do you guys go the HD collection way?

My last few playthroughs have been everything on my Vita (MGS1 download + Vita HD collection) and then MGS4 on PS3. But I usually play MGS1 disc version on PS3. I'm setting up my PS2 soon for a few games as well once I get a SCART to HDMI converter so I'll probably play Substance on it whenever I do it.

Is it hard to find one of those converters where you live? U were from the US right?

Nah I'm in Europe, Amazon seem to have a good few although I'd rather go with something branded that I can trust which is a bit harder to find. Always wary of cheaping out on electronics for the sake of saving a few quid.

I have an hdmi converter but my ps2 fat has the red yellow and white cable, not a scart. Or are u maybe playing on a CRT tv that only takes scart?

Nah I'm on an OLED, couldn't remember if the PS2 was SCART or not.

PS2 uses SCART; I've got a converter hooked up to mine. Displays okay. Depending on how you are for space, charity/thrift shops for old TVs that still have RGB/SCART inputs might be the ideal. CRTs are tricky to find and ancient; but TVs from like...2007/2014 should be relatively cheap and have the right inputs.

Just picked up a 32" Sony Bravia from a charity shop for £25 on Friday, has multiple SCART inputs so it's perfect for old consoles. TV's from that era should also have an HDMI port or two, so if you're wanting to hook up a newer console that remains an option.
