RE: Gaming Chat - Departed - 21-04-2025

I recently finished Arkham Shadow on Meta Quest 3S. I didn't know what to expect going in but it's easily one of my favorite Arkham games, especially after the utterly abysmal Suicide Squad game. There's definitely some stuff that doesn't hold up well during replays that I'm more eager to skip but none of it feels like it drags on. The bosses were all definitely some of the better Arkham bosses. Trouble is, there's only four in the game, technically three since one is like a slightly more extended version of the Deadshot takedown in Arkham City. The story's one of the more interesting ones in the series with some incredibly well realized characters, and the voice acting might be the best yet. This game also has the best puzzles of any Arkham game since they utilize VR incredibly well for some of them, particularly the final puzzle.

The bonus modes they added give the game so much more replay value, but infinite combat is a legit workout. It's incredibly fun but you're gonna be exhausted after a while.

RE4 VR is still the best VR game I've ever played and might be one of my favorite games period. Wild West is the single most addictive bonus mode I've ever played and no matter how many times I replay it, going full Revolver Ocelot on the villagers never gets old.

Ive been cycling between a few games myself.

My go to for killing time is OSRS, as well as playing Hypercharge Unboxed which is a fun little game too!

RE: Gaming Chat - NateDog - 22-04-2025

Gone back to MGS4 while I wait for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on Thursday. I started it a month or two ago and got close to the end of Act 1 but started a new save because I got a warning that I had to do that to earn trophies because of the update that the game got to include them many years ago. Then I realised I had trophies already for it so I found my old clear save files with trophies so I'm back on it. But now I don't think I'm bothered to try actively get any more and think I'm just going to have some fun with it and mess around a bit (which was my initial plan anyway). Need to get some more usage out of the Tanegashima given it's only really useful in Acts 1 and 2 and I've started using the emotion ammo too.

Have you played ALYX?

Oh, I'm playing that too. Hoping it turns out good.

Been very excited for it ever since its reveal and I basically ignored everything I could that was revealed since. The world design looks beautiful. Not sure how much I'll love the combat but it was a similar situation with Lost Odyssey and that still ended up being an incredible and unique experience because everything else was so good. Not saying I expect this to be that good but combat won't be the be all and end all with this.

RE: Gaming Chat - Null - 22-04-2025

I've literally just heard of this. It's kinda piqued my interest too.

RE: Gaming Chat - NateDog - 23-04-2025

I'm stunned that Clair Obscur is getting such incredible reviews but I'm delighted for the team. It seems like they've taken a few risks with design choices (such as having no mini-map) and that could have been a killer given they're a new studio but they seem so genuine. Hoping my copy actually arrives tomorrow but looks like it hasn't even been dispatched. Sometimes I really hate getting excited for new titles on release, I hardly ever buy titles on day one nowadays and when I do I either get it late when I have time to get into it or I don't have time to get into it at all. Bah.

RE: Gaming Chat - Null - 23-04-2025

I just saw the review scores as well. Wow. Do you want to do the honours and make the thread, Nate?

RE: Gaming Chat - Suede - 23-04-2025

So happy to see the reviews. I thought it might be good, but not that good.
