Sports games didn't do great. Racing i think did the best out of them.

And that one vote will be me, PES 6 is the best footy game of all time and the young'uns who are addicted to Ultimate Team are not experiencing the same joy I experienced back in the day.

And Yakuza should absolutely be in this, there's about a hundred games in the franchise and all of them are excellent.

Alas, just as the Final Four ended on Saturday in the real world, so does ours here on MGF. Let's see who our Championship matchup will be....

No real notes, as these two now compete in the Championship for the title of MGF's Favorite Video Game Series in our first tournament. Good luck to both and may the best franchise win! For the final battle, we'll need one last bracket and voting ends on Saturday 4/11 at 23:59!

So what did we learn from all this?
  • We do in fact seem to like MGS the most....barely. We may want to make a Resident Evil theme for the forum with how close it was.
  • Crash is more popular than Spyro, Sonic, and Mario...and I'm pretty sure was the most popular series by a Western dev.  Monocle
  • Sports games weren't all that popular unless you count fighting games as sports games instead of their own genre.
  • Sorry to @Agent as Hitman came in the middle of the pack.
  • I'm eagerly awaiting @Aragorn to criticize Max Payne's position and tell us all that our tastes are crap.
  • I'm wondering if recency bias may have played a small role, as RE and Pokemon both had releases recently.


Thanks to all who voted and participated! Hope you guys found this fun and maybe we'll do some more tournaments around here. Anything surprise you? Any series that didn't do as well as you thought or you thought overperformed?

Having MGS in these low key defeats the point because the vast majority will vote MGS. Horrible taste all around folks well done
