RE: Visual Arts - tr0nic - 17-04-2026 Just dropping a small update since I'm quite proud of myself: Wanted to see if I had the skills so far to make a low-poly arsenal for myself to use once I get somewhere farther down the line in learning Blender. Just finished my first attempt at putting together a Portuguese-style AR-10 Carbine: AR-10C: GTA III M16: MP5/10: That 10mm straight mag will come out really great I think. Did you downscale images of the guns and use them as textures? If so, if you wanna get a crunchier look, in the shading tab change the texture sampling from Linear to Closest, that way it won't use pixel data to blur sharp edges and you'll see every pixel. RE: Visual Arts - tr0nic - 17-04-2026 Appreciate it, brother. I don't know why I didn't sit down and dig into Blender sooner. Thank you for the tip! And yes, I downscaled a really quality image of the actual AR-10 for this but I got lucky, right now I'm trying to create a texture set on Shoebox for the MP5 and it is definitely tricky with these more obscure lower res images. I actually did have the shading on "closest" but this was an accident and I had no idea I had already done that, now I actually know what I did lmao so thank you. Now I am torn. "Closest" gives me the crunchiest look by far, but "cubic" gives it a distinctly smooth, early 2000's PC game look. Looks like it could be a model from Max Payne 1. Cubic: RE: Visual Arts - tr0nic - 18-04-2026 OKAY one quick doublepost to show off my day's work and then I'll fuck off until I make some more measurable progress. Made some SKB-brand foam lined cases for my AR-10C: Spoiler: Putting the cases to use: Spoiler: RE: Visual Arts - DANMATUS - 19-04-2026 (18-04-2026, 01:56 AM)tr0nic Wrote: OKAY one quick doublepost to show off my day's work and then I'll fuck off until I make some more measurable progress. This is so cool, gives me alot of Max Payne vibes with the old graphics, keep em coming! A inspiration for the MP5 could be the MP5 from Counter Strike 1.5 / 1.6. Always loved that gun! RE: Visual Arts - Dirty Duck - 20-04-2026 Only something silly but here's a poster I made for a Smash Bros tourney. It's a BBQ/tournament reunion of people who used to play together at locals every weekend until covid happened, so the last one was 6 years ago. The venue has long since closed down and this reunion is being hosted at one of the house of one of the old regulars instead. The characters on the poster are all ones that were people's mains back when we used to play. I was really looking forward to it honestly but I now have work that weekend so can't make it. Bit of a bummer but I need the work right now so shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth or whatever-hopefully this one goes well and there's another down the line. ![]() RE: Visual Arts - Jassassino - 20-04-2026 Recently played FO2 and felt like it gave me some nice inspiration - so I'm working on some scenery to put together inspired by it. Spent the past two days making these Poseidon Energy retro petrol pumps. Work in progress still - want to add a ticking display meter for pricing and add a bit more wear and tear, but please with them for the most part. Was really fun imagining how the logo would work in a 3D space - looked at a lot of classic petrol signage including Shell (lol) to get it down properly.
RE: Visual Arts - Roger - 07-06-2026 Garnet FF9: Yuna FFX: I recently got back into digital painting. Man I love this stuff. Jass and Tr0nic those are some really sick 3d skills. RE: Visual Arts - Dirty Duck - 07-06-2026 Wow Roger, really cool! |
