Ugh so it is battle royale, albeit it sounds like on a smaller scale. When Konami said the online landscape had changed so they had to change I really hope this isn't what they meant because they're about 5 years late for this trend.

Mgo2 was so good back in the day i also enjoyed mgo3 but mgo2 was still the best not just for gameplay but met some great people and still friends till this day .. so hyped for pve and then same for this new pvp mode dropping later this year so gpod to have metal gear solid back and hopfully more remakes to come after this 😁

Lots of characters. Seems like they’re skins rather than Unique Characters-more MPO than MGO (although I guess Ocelot was unique in MPO with his ricochet-or am I remembering that wrong?).

Anyway cool to see Paramedic, didn’t expect that.

Looks good. Bit worried it's overly dependent on the AT-camo, even hiding from the "Snake-sense" thing seems to rely you using that.

This actually made me a lot more excited to play Fox Hunt. For starters, there's a two v two v two v two mode that kinda goes in waves until it's the last team standing which looks neat. They're also going the Portable Ops approach for player skins, but unlike in MGO1, it looks like you can play as pretty much every character in MGS3. So far, playable characters include Naked Snake (fatigues and sneaking suit), The Boss, Eva, Ocelot, Zero, Paramedic, Sigint, The Fear, The Sorrow.

I'm hoping that means boss specific weapons too. I'd love to play around with The Fear's crossbow or The Pain's tommy gun, to get a taste of weapons we haven't played with in previous iterations of Metal Gear before. There are radio commands like every other MGO game too. No clue if they got all the voices to do those commands, especially given how some of the VA's are in their 80's now, but we'll see. It was all in Japanese.

Big picture, there are three big, sprawling maps to play in. One is a remake of Grozyj Gradj after it's been destroyed, with snow, ruins and what not everywhere. Another appears to be an entirely original railway map, and the last one is a big jungle map. Looks like three modes as well, with capture, a solo hide and kill mode, and one with tagteams. And like with MGO1, when you kill other players, they drop their weapons and special gear now for you to snag once you beat them.

Oh I missed the last part. Using unique characters looks good, glad they didn't show off too much of them but I hope they have unique abilities and weapons too as opposed to just being skins. Cool to see Paramedic and Zero in there.

I feel like it has the potential to still be quite fun. The Naked Sense and AT Camo feel like they discourage run and gun style gameplay but if MGO2 is anything to go by I feel like aggressive playstyles will still end up on top.

I also would rather every “unique character” actually have something about them to make them worth playing. I feel like they definitely won’t as the Japanese commentary described them as “disguises”, so we aren’t actually playing as The Fear for instance, just a regular soldier dressed up as him.
