I'm happy for people that like the games but they're just not for me unfortunately. Sounds like bro isn’t a fan of feelings of isolation accompanied by beautiful bouncy beats and a well-designed self-referential map. Sounds like bro needs to get high and start a new game of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and then jump on the couch multiplayer with me when he’s too fried to remember where he saw that Ice Missile to fully appreciate all that the Prime series has to offer him. Sounds like now is the prime time to do such a thing. I loved the sense of exploration in Prime, then the game bashes you over the head with it by making you go back and forth over and over. I guess it's just the Metroidvania style that I don't like. Echoes was fun too but again after a few hours when I had to endlessly retrace my steps it became a chore. I feel like something like Resident Evil is good design in terms of locking you off from specific areas and sequentially sending you through them, but this style just makes a game the opposite of fun for me. bro RE: Nintendo Switch 2 Thread - Dirty Duck - 28-03-2025 I understand that feeling in Prime 1. The backtracking is forced regardless of how much exploitation you’ve done of an area previously and there’s not really enough shortcuts to make it feel easier the second time going to a place. Idk how far you got with Echoes but I felt both of those were really dealt with. Lots of shortcuts added once you get an ability that just make zipping around a lot easier and there’s no forced late-game treasure hunt if you explored the areas well yourself. Honestly maybe Prime 3 is for you. Still backtracking obviously it comes with the territory but it’s made up of smaller maps scattered across different planets. Or maybe Metroid Prime just isn't for you bro :’( RE: Nintendo Switch 2 Thread - NateDog - 28-03-2025 (28-03-2025, 10:28 AM)Dirty Duck Wrote: I understand that feeling in Prime 1. WAIT I meant Dread not Echoes I do need to give Echoes a proper try. Perhaps I will soon. RE: Nintendo Switch 2 Thread - NateDog - 02-04-2025 I was supposed to be in work during the direct but as it is I've been off sick since yesterday (and I pretty much always just power through when sick). Hopes and dreams? BoTW remaster / upgraded version, I'd love to see a new Animal Crossing in the vein of New Leaf but I'm not sure I think we'll get one this early on. RE: Nintendo Switch 2 Thread - Dirty Duck - 02-04-2025 I saw this on instagram the other day and it got me really excited remembering how exciting the Switch launch was. RE: Nintendo Switch 2 Thread - NateDog - 02-04-2025 Bit disappointed myself from a launch perspective but there's some decent stuff there, just not much that I'm interested in personally. Shame it's only available in black, I'll want it on launch for Mario Kart for sure and then the upgraded BOTW but that's about it. Wonder how long we'll have to wait for other colour variants. I am allowing myself to get excited over IO's Bond game even though it has been so many years since we've heard anything about it. RE: Nintendo Switch 2 Thread - Jassassino - 02-04-2025 Nearly nothing excited me except for ̶B̶l̶o̶o̶d̶b̶o̶r̶n̶e̶ ̶2̶ ̶ Duskblood. Apparently this is co-op like ER: Nightreign so any interest I may have had is gone. Although I didn't really like Elden Ring anyway so this being in a similar style in terms of movement and size of world means it was probably never going to be for me anyway. Seems like the BOTW upgrade is free with Nintendo Switch online subs that have the add ons so looks like I'll just rebuy it on Switch soon.
