RE: Assassin's Creed - Null - 21-03-2025 Yeah, Syndicate was good IMO. I think I platinumed that. RE: Assassin's Creed - NateDog - 22-03-2025 I think I got the AC2 platinum. I mean one of my best memories with it was being so invested in it early on that I (blindingly obviously) faked being ill to get out of a family event so I could sit at home alone to play it. I literally played for 5 hours straight with the only breaks running to the bathroom and took a short break after and got back to it. Such an incredible experience. I have great love for AC as well. Yes it was limited in terms of gameplay but the setting is excellent and it felt challenging, perhaps the only one up until AC3 (I stopped playing afterwards) where you couldn't just multi-kill to get out of a difficult situation and where simply running away was necessary on occasion. I think this is one of the reasons why I didn't like Revelations, alongside Ubisoft using this as the perfect point to destroy my love for the franchise with possibly the worst DLC and character assassination of all time. I had read a lot on the Levant and Constantinople before then and was quite disappointed in the setting, felt too safe and like they didn't do near enough. I have that damn trophy though. I got it legit TWICE and it bugged on me so I just cheesed it then because I fucking deserved that. I'll always miss this franchise and hate what Ubisoft did to it. I'm sure some of the recent releases have been good but they began to build up something so special and utterly ruined it so quickly. RE: Assassin's Creed - Jassassino - 22-03-2025 Quite a few trophies were buggy and quite specific to absurd conditions in classic AC. I remember Brotherhood's DLC having one where you have to kill Jesters hidden throughout the city. There's one beneath a bridge which was my last one, I accidentally knocked him into the water where he drowned. Thus the trophy didn't pop, but it autosaved after he died so I couldn't easily revert back to redo it. Had me fuming at the time. I was excited for and did get IV near release but just didn’t play it much at all. But playing it and Unity on the PS4 years later I really enjoyed both-I think you probably would too. Black Flag obviously gets loads of love so I won’t echo the crowd. Unity got a lot of flack for its release but when I played it I was pleasantly surprised at how much the emphasis was back on the assassinations. They “ruined” the combat but it feels purposeful-combat is hard and you’ll likely die, so planning your assassination perfectly to do the stealthiest route is a must. It’s the most in depth assassinations have been since AC1 imo. I’d be interested to go back and actually do the co-op at some point if anyone’s interested-I never got a chance to do it as I played it after the zeitgeist died down. Extremely formative and important for me, but then I dipped, but then they roped me back in. AC1-II are classics. I think I prefer 1 to II overall; II was great for its time but it did have a lot of critical flaws and it kind of shows its age now. The entire franchise up till Rogue had a problem with a combat system that was far, far too simplistic and extremely limited stealth tools. Fucking ridiculous that we couldn't *crouch* up till Unity came out. Speaking of, I loved Unity. I played it post-release so I didn't have the buggy experience; has the most refined AC core experience for me. Big crowds, towering dense city, great customization, focus on stealth and a somewhat challenging combat system. Story was a massive missed opportunity but game made up for it everywhere else. Syndicate was alright; wish they went for a darker tone but it wasn't bad at all and a decent refinement on Unity. Hated Origins. Cool world, but couldn't stand what they did to the gameplay loop. Odyssey lost me within 5 hours but Valhalla had me hooked. Ended up platinuming it, really enjoyed Mirage and am now going through Shadows. RE: Assassin's Creed - DoubleO - 12-04-2025 Assassins' Creed Shadows is woke trash. Henry told me to say that... RE: Assassin's Creed - Aragorn - 12-04-2025 Null NOW WHO'S THE ONE INSTIGATING?! On the subject of woke I genuinely love Yasuke/Naoe as protragonist. I also really liked Eivor in Valhalla but both Yasuke/Naoe feel so much more defined as characters than the past few protagonists. RE: Assassin's Creed - Departed - 21-04-2025 I'm starting Shadow now. I got to the point where the eleven targets are available to start hunting down. So far, I really like the mechanics of the game. I think combat feels fun enough for what it is and love the responsiveness of diving for cover in bushes and having "guaranteed assassination" on. Haven't had a chance to see what the parkour is like yet. It hasn't been the same since they ditched Unity's PK system, but I liked it enough in Mirage. I imagine I'll probably spend most of the game as Naoe, simply because I prefer going stealthy over the RPG-style combat. I'm just hoping the rest of the game picks up the pace because it feels like there's been a lot more following NPC's and talking to them than there's been sneaking and stabbing. Up til now, I only did one real stealth mission against the masked guy and that's been the highlight so far for me. RE: Assassin's Creed - Sword - 19-05-2025 I would like to get Shadows. I loved Valhalla. (It took me 4 years to finish it but any time I booted it up I had a blast). I think I liked all the AC games, but could never work out how to get new weapons in AC3 lol. |
