I bought a few a few weeks ago because they were on sale. I have VII, VIII, IX, X, 15, and 16. What do?

Gonna throw a curveball in here and they definitely won't be obvious choices for beginners but if FFT's world was part of what hooked you then consider playing FFXII or Vagrant Story (though not an FF game) as they're set in that same world of Ivalice. Otherwise I'd honestly say just go for which one appeals to you the most based on what you know of them. There's no right answer as you'll always be able to play the others after.

I watched the openings of all the series on YouTube and immediately bought Final Fantasy VI haha

You’re in for a magical ride.

VI's opening is wonderful, sets the tone so well. Adore this track too.

OK, I have been missing out my entire life. I'm utterly in love with this game. The music is spectacular.

Pre-registration for the new Dissidia mobile game just dropped. I am unfortunately a sucker who is desperate for any scraps of Dissidia content the Square Enix overlords will allow me, so I will be spending far too much of my time playing it.

I've tried getting into Dissidia a few times but I think it just isn't for me, and I still find that weird as it's the type of thing I should like!

That's a shame, but I can't say I completely blame you. The first one I played was Dissidia NT on the PS4, and it is hands down my least favorite Final Fantasy game I've EVER played. A monumental downgrade in every single conceivable way besides graphics and debatably music. I emulated the original and eventually Duodecim and was astounded by the simple fact that they weren't 3v3 games, which was the worst change they made in my opinion. If you've played either of the first two, I'm curious to know what parts didn't click with you. My biggest complaint is that I don't really find the arcade mode that enjoyable. Fighting opponents with about the same stats and equipment as you slows the matches down to a crawl where neither of you will be doing any real damage. Bigger guys like Golbez and Exdeath are especially tanky for the sake of being tanky and I avoid going up against them as much as I can in high level matches. I'd be happy if they'd just port them over to modern consoles, but I don't think they care that much. Alas, modern gamers are stuck with NT and a gacha game Sad

I’m still yet to play them myself but I am keen now I’ve played more FF games.
