Kept you waiting, huh? I personally blame whoever made the graphics...but I digress! Our friendly Node has gone through all the votes and crunched the numbers, so without further ado it's time for the:






Consistency is key: The winners for both Best Avatar and Best Signature retained their look from the old boards. It pays to be recognised!

Dressed to Impress: Dirty Duck, Null, and Shyne-Bryght all received votes for both Best Avatar and Best Signature.

Best Graphics: While not a category this year due to the lack of graphic makers currently active on the boards, signatures made by Jassassino received a number of votes across multiple members making him the honorary winner of the hypothetical category.

Double Dipping: As well as winning Post of the Year, TomRL101's snarky retort received an additional vote in the Best Signature category in the form of Jassassino's signature. Including this vote, TomRL's post received 5x the votes of the runner-ups for Post of the Year. Please do not take this as a sign to be more rude to your fellow members.

Landslide: The category with the biggest disparity in votes was Member of the Year. Due to his time in China over the past year it's unclear whether this was a true act of democracy or was in fact rigged.

Most Variety: The category with the largest number of different nominations was Most Missed where eight different members received votes. Half of these are on the boards already- @Cardboard Jesus @Departed @Kestrel @tako - we miss you!
The other half have yet to find their way here. Maybe we'll change that before the next awards?

One Thread Wonder: Despite posting exclusively in a single thread, Two Witnesses received votes for Best New Member, Post of the Year, and Topic of the Year.

Pass Pass Pass: One member abstained from voting in 3/7 categories. And here I thought we kept the categories trim enough to not scare anyone off!

This Maxine's Work: Maxine Work was the least active member to receive a vote for Member of the Year. She also received a vote for Topic of the Year for her powerhouse MGForums Wordle, which is still the second most replied to topic on the boards. Keep on trucking, Maxine!

Oh, Aragorn!: Aragorn PM'd Node 10 days ago asking if it was too late to submit his votes. He was told he could vote right up until this thread was posted, but never voted despite logging on multiple times since. womp womp!

Thank you everyone who voted and well done to the winners, well earned across the board!
As always thank you all for being a part of the site and making it a lively enough place to do something like this after our first year.

I'm honored by the votes, but I do not believe I am eligible for "new member"! I only joined the forum because of an email inviting members of the old forum back. I imagine my activity level there was very low - truth told, I barely remember it! So if I need to be disqualified, all good. Thank you to everyone for the warm (re-)welcome. Real life is being very rough on me right now, and that kindness gave me a morale boost. Thanks, folks.

Aw man, chuffed to have received enough proxy votes to be honorary Graphics Man of the Year and enough actual votes to be runner-up in Member of the Year, and cheers for Most Producktive, Max. 🥰

Technically we're all new members again! Definitely deserving IMO.

Congrats to all the winners. It really is great to see a celebration of the community we've built over the past year. Looking forward to our second year!

Thank you also for recognising that I highly value consistency and being recognised from the old days - not at all that I haven't made any graphics for years and have no fresh material (which wouldn't be the same standard). But I say if the dog still has some hunt in him, let that boy cook.

I'm with Jass here-it's less about the technicality of new at this point and you've made a big enough impact that several people thought to vote for you so as far as I'm concerned you've earned it. And to echo Null we've had a lot of great members sign up who we weren't familiar with from the old boards, so it's more about who we've gotten to know at the end of the day.
