Cool coincidence this thread is posted when it was, as today I've just had the first part of my second tattoo done. The first one is a bit of (douchey) fine line text across my pec so not a "real" tattoo I won't be posting that thirst trap, sorry boys. Today was a big one.

That is Tomyris holding the head of Cyrus the Great.The story of Tomyris and Cyrus is just metal as fuck (even if it's more mythology than history, I don't care). At some point (but not the next one) I want Hannibal and maybe Boudicca. This still take another 3 to 4 hours to complete. Today was around 4.5 to 5. Lost two hours tweaking it as it was going on my arm originally.

My first tattoo is the thistle. I got it during a psychotic break that was triggered by a bad mushroom trip, where I have zero memory of what happened. One day I had no tattoos, the next day I lose two days of my life, and at some point I must have gone to a tattoo parlour, because I have a tattoo now. I got it in Scotland, which is why I'm guessing I got a thistle at all.

The wolf man on my arm had a bit more (well, some, at least, haha) thought put into it. It's a representation of my schizophrenia, and all the mistakes I made before I was diagnosed and medicated against it. He's wearing Converse trainers to represent my more punky/rebellious nature, while the suit is there because I have to blend into regular society. There's a Miike Snow song that I really like with the lyrics "I change shapes just to hide in this place, but I'm still a monster" that I feel sums up my experience of life since getting my diagnosis and having some knowledge of what afflicts me.

The FOX logo is because I'm a colossal nerd, but it does have a bit more meaning. I wanted a fox on my body for the same reason I wanted a wolf related tattoo. I've just always loved wolves and foxes. The fox is the more beneficial side of schizophrenia. I got it when I landed my current job (and hopefully it'll be the only job I have for the rest of my life, because I fucking love it). It's meant to represent my cunningness and creativity. I waited a while to get this, but eventually I realized the FOX/Kojima Productions logo was perfect for me because it ties into my love of MGS as well.

My only tattoo I like is my hand tattoo. It's ascii art and it's faded a fair bit since it was first done (the artist did warn me finger tats tend to fade) but I still fuck with it.

I think the show is great in general but the final episode really resonated with me. It reminded me of a lot of stuff from my childhood that I'd never really thought about much before watching it and left me a bit speechless afterwards. That's where this particular still of her is from. It was a very sudden decision-I'd travelled an hour away to try and retrieve my friend's smart watch he'd dropped in a fight only to find the bar was closed and the staff on the phone said they'd thrown it away as it was broken despite one telling me they had it the day before. I'd essentially wasted 2 hours of my life if I headed straight back and I saw my friend who was a tattoo apprentice had space available the next town over so I just went and got it done.

I have some crappy little tattoos done by an ex and one that I got matching with another ex which were very wise decisions. I sort of thought oh nobody ever sees my legs it's fine but I wear shorts more now and I kind of forget I have them until I get random comments about Daria once in a blue moon lol.

I thought I'd have more by now but they're pretty spenny

This was the second one I ever got - I watched True Detective Season 1, and I fucked with what the Heron stands for in general.

My sleeve - Nordic themed, got a Swedish pagan hermit to design this one. Thor striking down the world serpent before he dies to its poison. It’s more complete than this now but these are the pics I got.




Last but not least, two flash pieces - my most recent.



Next? I’m planning on getting an Outer Heaven tattoo on my chest, I want to finish off my sleeve and extend it to my wrists, and maybe getting a flash pieces on my other arm.

I'm jealous of all of you. I've wanted tattoos for years but my weight and size of my arms have fluctuated over the years with changing jobs and issues preventing me from keeping going with fitness goals so I've been reluctant to get anything.

Weight doesn't matter. I've gone from slim to jacked to fat fuck and everything inbetween and the skin adjusts just fine. If you slim down, it looks better - if you bulk up, it looks the same.

Got my Tomyris piece 99% finished. Minor complaint is the placement means in photos the arm looks off because it wraps around to my hamstring slightly, but that's super picky. 
Today I just got this goofy bastard.

Ooh I love the 'silly' tattoo! I'm getting the Black Flag... flag, next week. Not because I particularly like BF, I fuck with 'em, but I'm more of a late 2000s punk, but because of what it represents to me. I'll go into that a bit more when I've got it done, just getting the pricing for it, but I'm getting it on my right inner wrist!
