Hilarious that he’s publicly saying he wishes a lower percentage of players enjoyed the game. Classic Kojima. But I do get where he’s coming from. Death Stranding was a divisive experience and not everyone loved it. If more people prefer the second it could mean it’s a more mainstream and less experimental experience. I won’t lie it is something that’s crossed my mind. I have a feeling combat is going to be more of a focus in Death Stranding 2 for whatever reason but I do hope that it’s not too massive of a departure from the idea of the original-just an elevated sequel.
This is something I feared for those of you that loved DS1 even if it'd mean it would appeal to the likes of me a bit more. I get what he's saying but this is also just typical Kojima, "poor me I'm too successful and make games that are too good WHAT DO I DO I CAN'T HELP IT".
From what I´ve heard it´s still very much a delivery focused game. You have the option to use more violence, but those who didn´t like the walking, the combat, the general presentation; they are not gonna like DS2. Not sure where this "I didn´t like DS1, but I´ll surely like DS2" idea came from. Kojima said from the beginning people would be able to choose to go stealthy or not.

Play testing and early reviews I believe? I guess if more people feel positively about it at this point compared to the first game it means people who didn’t like Death Stranding are liking Death Stranding 2. Or maybe a larger group of people are playing it. Who knows! I still have faith it’s going to be what I loved about DS1 just dialled up, but I just wonder how much it will break the mould if at all.
